Explanation of the basics of pipeline ADC

Can someone give me some papers that discuss the basics of pipeline ADCs? Most of the stuff i've found on IEEE so far requires that I have some basic knowledge that I just do not quite have yet. Thanks.

Look for pipeline ADC application notes at maxim ic website. Thats a good starting point. Here is the link.

You can also go thru some analog/mixed signal books to understand the operation.

Thanks a lot. I've been looking through Maxim's notes today and they all seem to be real nice. I'm sure I'll be going back to their site a lot over the coming years.
