Explain this ckt pls

Can anyone explain that how the circuit of Figure:20 (attached file) works out?
I am a bit confused that how this summing amplifier works and we get O V at Vout1 when D=2048.

This means that when D=0, one will get Vout2=Vref and Vout1= Vref/2. But How??

Well, by seeing equation it is clear? But what is going on physically?

Hope to hear a gud explanation.

Note: By the DAC is of 12bit therefore 2(12) = 4096 is conversion rate
