electrolytic esr

hello,

i need to find the ESR for an electrolytic capacitor = Jamicon SS 10uF, 50V

**broken link removed**

I got it from Tan delta = ESR/Xc (The datasheet gives tan delta)

I calculate it at 13.2 Ohms.

This sounds awful high......am i wrong ?

esr tan delta

Some manufacturers give detailed data, some don't. Panasonic has e. g. frequency dependant impedance characteristics for some GP electrolytic capacitors. I guess, the value for the said part may be in the 5 - 10 ohms range. If ESR matters, you should use low ESR types, they have an impedance specification.
