Hello All,

I have developed BLDC motor controller. I have been asking below questions in my product demonstration,

1) What is the efficiency of the Controller?
2) What is the efficiency of Motor?

I have checked combined efficiency (i.e. controller + motor ) which is 89%.

Kindly help me how to measure only controller's efficiency.

Please help me.

I must be confused on this, most of the efficiency of non motor
circuit would be in considering the H Bridge power wasted in its
gate drive and Rdson Pdiss of the MOSFETS in the H Bridge. Also any
energy lost in the clamp diodes for the L load of the motor in the H
bridge or if external. So if you have made the measurement
of the motor consumed RMS, and energy source RMS, you have that
answer I think.....?

You would do this with a scope (I presume), this might be helpful -

Regards, Dana.

Hi
Kindly help me how to measure only controller's efficiency.
efficiency = output_power / input_power.

You need to select useful power meters. We don´t have any information on your input and output signals.

Hello All,

Great to see your replies.

Let me give you more information on this.

I have dynamo meter set up where I have checked combined efficiency by using o/p / i/p.

But they are asking me only controllers/ drivers efficiency.

Could you please help me?
