I tried Eagle long time ago and found it not to be an intuitive piece of software.
When I started with PCB design, I used smARTWORK (DOS software, running from 5.25" floppy
), OrCAD, TANGO, Protel, ...
Never used any auto router (it is for si**ies
).
Now, retired, I'm "playing" with KiCAD. As any software it has its bugs, quirks and workarounds.
Good user forum, where you can get a lot of answers, even from developers.
Tutorials that you can fond on YT or some other places are usually outdated, but that's the price that you have to pay for FOSS.
