Hello,

I wish to import a dxf file from our mechanical guys into Eagle Pro.

I've read numerous posts on this site, and elsewhere about it, but is there any youtube video type lesson on it anywhere?

-Or is it really as simple as opening the dxf2scr ulp and just "going with the flow" so to speak.

Presumably the dxf file has to somehow get converted into a "part", because parts are the only thing that one can bring into the eagle pcb layout editor?

....I have found the Eagle website (cadsoft) is not providing explanations of dxf import, and what the process is all about.

As far as I know the dxf will be imported as tracks which you can put on any layer. The best thing to do is simply try it on a blank board to try to get the settings right.
