doubt regarding SAR adc

if we say the 12 bit 5msps SAR ADC.
the meaneni g of the spec is
1.the input clock is 5 Mhz.
or the out data is comming at the rate of 5Mhz.
doubt: if the output data is commnig at the rate of 5Mhz then the input clock should be (12*5 Mhz= 60Mhz)
so please clarify my doubt the meannig of the spec given spec.
 

msps is mega samples per second - that's the data rate, not the clock frequency

it should be the out data is comming at the rate of 5Mhz. but according the sample time, the input clock should be (12*5 Mhz + sample time > 60Mhz)
 

..5msps means it can convert 5m signals to digital per seconds..
