Hi Guys,

I have a DS1620 IC. Im not sure how to use it, can any one give me some pointers?

-DO u use serial communication(maybe a library) ?

I have the datasheet , but im not sure how to communicate with the chip, i know its serial but how to do it if u know what i mean. Maybe some old projects would help!!!

thanks for the links, i see that the first link is to program the thermostat functions of the IC using the COMM of the PC. I want to do this with my micro-controller, but i dont know how to. do i use the serial communication in the library? im using MikroC. Just need the global idea and libraries to use.

this is a project done by Jody. A temp (DS1620) and a humidity (HS15p) sensor wich displays the readings on a Hitachi based LCD using PIC 16F876A

there is a part:
'static bit DS1620_DQ @ ((unsigned)&PORTC*8+4); // DS1620 DQ'

What exactly is this? A Macro or a 'storage class'.....

could someone explain this?
