We know that breaking the victim net by adding a buffer will remove the cross-talk violations. What is the basic concept behind this?

Hi Kumar,

When you insert buffers you are essentially increasing the drive strength of the victim net which can also be done by increasing the size of driving cell....so now there wont be any crosstalk violations as the victim net is strong enough to sustain the aggressor effects...

You can also move apart victim and aggressor nets also to reduce crosstalk violations

cheers,

Hi Pavan, I heard that the timing window will be divided by 2 if we insert the buffer middle. Thus the net length is reduced, so this net is immune to noise/cross-talk.

As far as I know what pavan said is correct..Had never heard from timing perspective...Kumar can you please elaborate on your answer please.
