connection of relay to uln2003a

uln2003a relay

good day guys, can you help me out about the connection of relay and uln2003? my purpose is to use this circuit to drive a stepping motor interfaced on my parallel port,this is for my school project. is it ok to use uln rather than diodes and resistor for relay? can you give me some advice about this? thank you very much.

Both options are OK:
- based on descrete components such as transistors, resistors and diodes
or
- using 1 x ULN2003

If you have the ULN2003 then this would be the preferred option as you will have to make less connections and you have a lesser chance of making a mistake ..
