I am designing a comparator which is used in a pipeline 50M ADC.


I only did the comparison simulation, fixed one diff input and add a pulse to another input, and add the clock signal to the latch bar port.


How about others?


If I wanna make sure this circuit works well, which parameters I need simulate also?

I think , you should simulate the settling performance of the SHA first.
then you had better simulate the offset of the comparator. however, to simulate the offset of the comparator is very difficult task. I think you should design it and layout it carefully.
normally, the monte carlo simualtion can assist your analysis.
the response time of the comparator also should be simulated.

In the ADC design, the accuracy is the key parameter.

the accuracy includes staic erro and dynamic erro,

Staic erro ----> noise + gain + offset
Dynamic erro ----> speed ( which is relative bandwith )

So, the noise, gian, offset, speed are the parameters which shold be simulated.
the offset simulation of latched-type comparator is very hard, but you can reference some paper.
