CD54HC4514 - analog or digital?

and how will analog and digital mux/demux differ in functionality
 

CD4514 is a decoder rather than a multiplexer. I don't see how an analog decoder should work at all.

As a reasonable comparison, you may want to review CD4512 digital data selector and CD4051 analog multiplexer. You always can use an analog multiplexer for digital signals, but not vice versa.

i realise that i could have been much clearer in my question. however, this clears my doubt. thank u
