Hi,

when doing s parameter analysis in cadence, S11 generated during simulation is w.r.to voltage or w.r.to Power?

Regards,
Praveen Gunturi.

yes. I know that but when s parameter simulations are done in cadence, we see 20 dB scale in the plotting option.

What I meant is if cadence is using voltage option for reflection coefficient, then it should use 20 dB scale otherwise it should use 10dB scale. So, does cadence taking voltage for calculating reflection coefficient magnitude?.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

In any simulator, S-parameters are sqrt(Power Wave), that is, Voltage Wave not Power Wave.

Use db20(), since S-parameters are sqrt(Power Wave), that is, Voltage Wave not Power Wave.
