Hi everyone,

For an LNA design, the inductors used in the design were simulated in a simulation software separate from the spectre simulator used in cadence for the other components (transistors, resistors, capacitors). So we created a n-port file for the inductors in the design and made it point to the S-parameter file generated by the inductor simulator software.

When you run monte carlo, and the simulator is statistically varying the different manufacturing variations, the inductor parameter remains same file, with the same conditions applied each time, since they were performed in a different software. I run monte carlo in the separate software package for the inductor and run monte carlo in that software to generate n amount of files. But since the file remains the same in cadence, the the monte carlo in ADE XL only simulates for the packages in cadence. The circuit is not being simulated for inductor variations.

What I want to do is find a way to stop the monte carlo run in between each iteration, and switch the S-parameter file to a different file using some method. Is there a way in ADE XL or using SKILL/Ocean to pause between each iteration and perform this processing?

Thanks in advance.
