The new Art of Electronics (3rd edition) has an excellent chapter on BJT's. There is first an introduction that uses a simplified transistor model (collector current = beta * base current). Later the Ebers-Moll is explained and used for the rest of the chapter.
Here is a review of the book:
What are the best books or web resources to learn about how transistors (BJTs) work, how to analyze them, and how to design using them?
Thanks so much!
