Hello All,

Enclosed is a LC ‘lattice-type’ balun, the method to calculate the value of L and C is also given.(quote from: www.rfic.co.uk)

My question is: Does this kind of balun also play a role as an impedance-matching network? If so, what kind of match does it achieve? I don't understand the calculating method.

Could you please give some comments on it?

Many Thanks!!!

i thought thats what baluns were for...impedance matching

there is a low frequency equivalent of a balun.........better experts than i will know and tell of it here.

Isnt it a matching transformer?...........think of the maths of that.

i worked in a microwave place for 4 months...

my impression was you either had to be a genius or know someone who was.
