Yes it can!

Wiz-C from FED www.fored.co.uk
supports it and I think Hi-Tech does as well. I would imagine others do too.

With limited memory space, you fill not be able to use large arrays and possibly higher level math functions but for control applications you can certainly use C.

assembler for pic

I like using assembler. It save spaces in the PIC memory. Eventhough it takes more time to write a program using it,I still love it.
