I know this is a repeated question that was asked many times before. I have been working with FPGA flow for 1 year now. I need to start learning ASIC design flow. I searched a lot on the internet for books, tools and any other tutorials that guide me but can't find interesting (and free) materials.
ASIC tools are not freely available also like FPGA tools (XILINX WEBPACK).
How should I start ?. What books, or tools should I get? Please recommend any opensource tools or any commercial tools in demo or limited free license period.
What additional digital design topics should I learn, for example in FPGA I don't design clock trees but in ASIC, people do. and so on.
I have experience with Windows and linux, Modelsim and xilinx tools and altera and good knowledge of vhdl and verilog. Should I learn additional things?
Thanks in advance.
