Thank you all for your replies.

Can you also direct me towards the procedure to purchase / download these tools.

Thanks,
Marie.

most popular tools :

[1]cadence design enviroment,,,,hard to get free version,,,,you can ask if your faculty has educational license for it ,so that you can use it....

[2]orcad for board design; you may find demo version for it

[3]Mentor graphics tools; hard to get free version,,,,you can ask if your faculty has educational license for it ,so that you can use it....

Could you please give me a link as to where I can find the demo of orcad???
Thanks in advance.

It's available here :

Enjoy, salam.

1. Candence Composer
2. Hspice and Adit for simulation
3.Orcad
4.Ansoft designer

Also there is not widely known tool for simulation, it is called AVOSim. Despite it is much cheaper,it simulates very quickly and with high level of accuracy. You can get trial-version for free here

hello,
can you tell me please the mentor tools that can be used for analog design
even if it'sn't free

thanks

Matlab for system simulation
hspice for circuit simulation

cadence hspice and modelsim

cadence design tool:

schematic: cadence composer
layout: cadence layoutXL
simulation: cadence Spectre/SpectreRF

another tool: Metor Graphics.

why not use spectres to simulate?
what are the differeces between hspice and spectres?thanks
