procedure analog design

Hi all,

I would like to know the most extensively and popularly used (industrially), simulation and lay-out tools for Analog Circuit Designing.

Kindly advise.

-Marie

cadence for simulation and layout.

calibre for physical verification

Cadence icfb/virtuoso platform for simulation & layout.

Cadence Assura or Mentor's Calibre for DRC, LVS, RCX verification. Calibre is more widely used.

Thank you all for your replies.

Can you also direct me towards the procedure to purchase / download these tools.

Thanks,
Marie.

The Cadance need license, which is expensive.
I think it is hard to get free one

most popular tools :

[1]cadence design enviroment,,,,hard to get free version,,,,you can ask if your faculty has educational license for it ,so that you can use it....

[2]orcad for board design; you may find demo version for it

[3]Mentor graphics tools; hard to get free version,,,,you can ask if your faculty has educational license for it ,so that you can use it....

Rcih ppl: Cadence (front to back)
Not that rich: Synopsis+Hspice ( it doesn't mean they're not same good as Cadence. The money talks )
Poor: Pspice (that's the old name)
Others: they used their own customized CAD.

Hi Marie,

It is tough to get in any of these software until u have access through educational institutes or huge co-orporations.

If you are seeking to learn this on your own, well u can get there manuals but not the software

1.workview office
2.smartspice
3.Micosoft EXCEL
4.I think that's all.
