hai friends

in my design ,

i have to reduce my net length, for this i need to add buffers and in my design i have some buffer (macro blocks ), now i need to insert those macros in order to reduce the net length ... can anyone help me in inserting them and route them . what can i do to insert them like ecoAddRepeaters

please help me

u can try two things

1. use "ecoAddRepeater" with relativetosink as 0.5 , do this multiple times but this is not a best approach.

2. U can set a max_length limit to required value and re-run using n optDesign

What are all the reasons behind reducing the net length?

Large net length mean large resistance and capacitance. You will end up having large delay.
