A question asked to me in interview???????

Dear Friends,

Floor plan is , Arrangmet of I/o blocks, functional blocks in an area according to the specification also the floorplan must be done in such a way that routing area must not get congested and area should remain small.

My question is NO WAS??

what was the area of Floorplan or what was the size?



Do anything like area, size is there in floorplan?????????????

If so how to measure that??????

Also in placement how was the placement done what was its area.

Also how to measure or size this.

actually while doing floorplan u need to specify the floorplan.there u have to mention the aspect ratio and distance betn i/o and core.u need to mention the core area.

Core Size = (standard cell area/core utilization) + (macro area + halo)

You can consider the floorplan as a pre-P&R process,just for a approximation of area and timing.
