I assembled the schematic below and it works very well however you need to take about the cable you will use. I used a printer cable and only for my board side I had to solder the shield and gnd together. My cable has more than one meter and works fine. Despite I used the Protel to design the schematic I used a standard board to assemble it.

my english is very poor
i have an stk200 whithout buffer. it work good for avr, but cant program 89s51.
when i try 89S51 it return 0x95 for enable programming command( see datasheet) but dont dont return signature and nothing else.

is this problem for buffer ic.

but it dont works. maby all of my chips(10 chip) is harted. but they accept "enable programming" comman by return 0x95(see datasheet).

I also tried for the at89sxx programmer.I wasted 2-3 weeks for this and Noo result.Then I just changed the 4mhz crystal to 12Mhz, and to my surprise the board worked well...I used the Azimghan,s isp cable without buffring.(I already wasted 4 buffer ICS for this ).But without buffering my programmer works well.My cable length is around 25cm.I ddnt try for longer cable length..

In some schematics for AVR Parallel ISP programmer. a 100k pull-up resistor is connected to the MISO or SCK pins ,is it necessary to place them in the circuit?

I made it today, It does not work. Connections does not seem clear to me. Also its difficult to get the USB chip used.
