Hello All. I have made a Monostable 555 circuit that runs on 5V and works fine, lights up my laser. I need to run the circuit from a 3V battery CR2032, when I use 3V the laser doesn't light up. Should I use a transistor? Is the 555 timer not cable of running on 3V? The laser works on 3V fine out of circuit. I don't want the circuit to draw too much current from the battery at the moment its drawing 20mA. Thanks

Click to expand... The datasheet should tell you. I don't know...I'd need to read it, too. Klaus

They work with a supply as low as 2V but then the output current is low.
