Does anyone sell 50 ohm microstrip or coplanar softboard? I know of hardboard vendors but not softboard.
I hope I am not breaking any rules asking.

Rogers, Taconics, Arlon, etc
RF substrate. Not flex. 5880, TLY, Ro4350, etc.

Not Alumina

I think it's misleading to name the PTFE RF substrates "softboards", they are still considered rigid PCB.

Anyway, it's not clear to me what you are exactly asking. Most designers implement transmission lines of defined impedance on these RF substrates.

Is about the "substrate material" and the "board" itself:

Thanks, where's the quote from? I don't recognize "softboard" as a commonly understood term for rigid PCB.

It is a terminology used for many decades in microwaves area.
I think (but not sure) this appears at the same time when Duroid/Teflon materials were invented, because Duroid/Teflon is a kind of "soft" material, even is not very flexible.

most people did not speak it in this way. PTFE RF substrates still rigid board.
