Hi,

I want design a 100 watt led driver. The input voltage is 220v AC. Is it possible to use a toroid instead of a EE type core?

As long as the Toroid can get you to your right voltage and current, I don't see why not. Is this an AC or DC based system?

input voltage 220V AC
Out put Voltage 36 to 42V DC @2.5A

There is a air gap in E type core for Fly-back type converters. For toroid it will not work?
