Hi everyone,
i am new for Altium Designer. i create new symbol in schematic.i need to add own library in my design or i have custom library folder is available i need to add it in my project
i am using altium 9.please help any one..it is urgent

You have to link the path.
system->libraries. It will open a tab named " Available Libraries".
click " Installed". and you can see the installed libraries.

Also, you can see 'library Path Relative to: '. Below to that you can see "Install" option. Click it. It will pop up a window, where you can link to the path to your custom library.
Now your custom library is added to Altium designer.

Best wishes :)

is it possible to edit the existing symbol in schematic ??

how to edit please reply ....

You cannot change the body of the component. If you want to change, you have to change only in the schematic library.
But You can change the pins in the schematic.

Best wishes :)

Why do you need to keep it in center? I dont think it is necessary to keep the component in origin.

Hi hamnath,
usually in DXdesigner i am making origin center in first pin like though.ok thanks i have one more doubt. i placed the some symbol in schematic for my convenient i need to change location of pin for existing symbol.how to edit the existing symbol.please reply

Yes you can change the location of pin by editing the pin details. Right click on the component. Component properties window will appear.
You can see an option "Edit pins" . There you can change the properties of corresponding pins.

Also you can see an option, "Lock pins". Please uncheck it. Then, click OK. Now drag and re-position the pins.

Best wishes :)

DXP->Preferences->Schematic->Default Primitives-> And double click on "wire". you can change the wire color as you wish. Thereafter, the selected color will be your wire color.

hi,
i assign the differential pair by using (place-->directives-->differential pair).after that i placed symbol for differential pair how to assign the name (D+,D-)in differential pair

In the properties tab, you can edit the name items.

Hi hemnath,
Here i attached schematic is it possible to check my design and in title block i need to add my company logo and project details i need to add how to add is it possible to explain to me

Hi kabil,
I have checked the attachment. I think you have represented the title block as strings. It is poor way of representing. Everytime when you want to change the parameters, you have to delete the old strings and have to type the new string.

https://www.scribd.com/doc/110632570/How-to-Create-a-Schematic-Template-in-Altium
Please follow this link, it may help you. Title box parameters are edited in Right click on schematic->options->Document parameters.

For adding company logo on your title block,
Right-click on schematic-> Place-> Drawing tools-> Graphic. A box will be on floating. Click TAB. It will pop up a window. There you can browse the file and attach it.

Also, Altium provides best notes. Please have a look.

After reading those notes, if you still have doubts, feel free to ask. I would like to help.

Best wishes :)

Hi hemnath,
thanks for your reply.Right now i am learning altium through video only.it is helpful only.but some of video i could not find like adding logo, homogeneous and hetrogeneous part creation.now i am updating schematic is i need to delete old string how can i delete it

- - - Updated - - -

still i am not complete my schematic i am updating new part in schematic .is i need to delete old string .how ??

By clicking the string and using "DEL" key will delete the string.

Go through the link which i sent in previous reply. it will explain how document parameters are used.

Best wishes :)

hi hemnath,
how to make clock pin while creating schematic symbol please reply to me

All the parameters are modified in pin properties.

For bubble pin, in symbols section, outside edge, select "DOT".
For RESET above line, R\E\S\E\T\ ... Backslash after each character.

For clock pin, in symbols section, inside edge, select "clock".

Best wishes :)

Hi
i need to create footprint in altium,i saw the altium video i could not understand properly can you explain how to create smd and Through hole component clearly.if have any document please post it

Did you take a look into "Creating PCB Component Footprints" section,
**broken link removed**

I think you might aware of package details for your component.
Please take a look into the component datasheet. Some manufacturers specify the recommended PCB Layout pattern, some may not.

For thru hole components, you should place the pad as multilayer.
for smd components, you should place the pad as Top layer or bottom layer. But placing Top layer is the best choice of designing.

For spacing between the pads, you have to take a look into your datasheet.

For which component you are designing PCB library?

Please read those notes once and if you have doubts further, please tell.

Best wishes :)
