HI to evryone..i'm having a problem how to program(assembly language) 16f877a with an input coin slot having a pulses:
1st coin=1pulse
2nd coin=5pulses
3rd coin=10 pulses

..pls help..thank you:)

Hi,

Just taking your question as you ask, then using the PortB Interrupt on Change feature of Rb4 -7 would seem one obvious way.

However you do not give any exact details of the coin mechanism, to show its logic or electrical details; can you post its datasheet ?

Have you written any code so far ? it helps if you show it. Are you just simulating it or running it on the actual hardware ?

Hi wp100,

Here's the details of the coin slot...I haven't started the program..i don't know how to start the program using the output pulses from the coin slot..I'm having it on actual hardware..please help thank you in advance.

Hi,

Afraid that datasheet gives little detail of the actual output pulses and at what voltage.
If they are at the supply voltage of 12v then you need some form of attenuator before connecting to the 5v pic.

You have not done any assembly programing before but expect to be able to do a full project now ??
Suggest you first learn a few basics like how to flash a led before you attempt a full project.
These sites can help you learn.

Your coin slot project has been posted in this forum many times , try a quick search - here are two that might help.
