TerryADS said:Thanks for all reply.which impedance i use for input match?I should select impedance that generated from S parameter,is it right?I have a qustion why the output terminal have the same result, and 20MHZ(IF) at input port also has the same result? What cause this case, how to analyze?
Maybe i did not express it clearly. As above,i do S parameter simulation, and select the impedance to match to 50R at RF input port and IF port.I use Z paramter and S parameter to generate impedance,i found some different cases as my first post,iBigBoss said:TerryADS said:Thanks for all reply.which impedance i use for input match?I should select impedance that generated from S parameter,is it right?I have a qustion why the output terminal have the same result, and 20MHZ(IF) at input port also has the same result? What cause this case, how to analyze?
Your problem is to do broadband matching if you intend to use from 20MHz-450MHz frequency band.In any case, you should use Smith Chart impedance values because ADS gives you the port input impedances looking toward to the circuit. So, if conjugate matching is necessary, you should these impedances.
Thanks.I want to match 450Mhz at RF input port, and 20MHz at IF(output port).
But in Mixers, conjugate matching for LO port does not have the priority, instead, the LO signal should have an amplitude as much as possible(not too much to break down the B-E junction ).Therefore conjugate matching doesn't make sense..
It is useful,thanks!
I couldn't understand your 2nd question..sorry..
It is very useful tool,thanks!mauroferrari_ said:You should use a function in ads that i dont remember that calculate and give you the "conjugate matching impedance" simply after the S-parameter simulation.
When you have this conjugate matching impedance you have to sintetize it for example with my tool:
