bicycle speedometer circuit

Hi,

how can i use hall sensor from speedometer to make my own circuit. I would like to make my own speedometer cause i've lost "computer" part.
Hall sensor have two wires. I've saw somewhere that 2 wire hall sensors are current based. Anyone have some circuit schematic that can be used to connect it to uC ?

Thanx

You can make urself a schematic. First analyse whether the Hall sensor is giving an output? what is the max voltage at output when it senses the magnet? then u amplify that voltage. Then compare the voltage to convert it into TTL using comparator (LM311). When u have the TTL sq.wave u can feed it into a uController.

Ok, if i get things right, you said just to connect wires on voltmeter and measure output voltage ?
Do i need to connect hall sensor wires on power supply and measure voltage drop when magnet comes near sensor ?

I've made circuit like on pic included, but i'm not sure about resistor values. Do i need to put higher value resistor between +5 and hall ? I dont know specs of hall sensor so i dont have clue how much current can flow through it? But i guess 0.5mA will be fine.

Check volts...this will give u a clue...when magnet is near and check again when nothing is near....Yes...resisitance should be high...100K

Ok, i've measured voltage when magnet is near and it is around 5v, and when it is not near, voltage is 0v. So there is my interrupt signal :)
Thanx for help!
