site:www.edaboard.com plane wave in rsoft

Dear All,

I just want to make electric dipole as a sourse for my simulation but I couldn't find any option for dipole in the fullwave program. Somebody help me??

you can try point source in fullwave. I used it once when I was simulating a PBG structure. just make sure of your dipole orientation TE/TM

how to define it? to use current source? BTW, what is the function of current source? Is it able to define a plane wave? Thx

To define a point source, choose to select spatial excitation type "current" in the launch parameters, and set the width, length, height to be zero as well. When it is 2d the orientation is fixed along the y direction while for the 3d you can adjust it. Yes there is difference between the TE and TM .
