i have Mentor Graphics PADS PCB 2005 Build 7 installed on my workstation.
i tried to open schematic and PCB files which were designed using Mentor Graphics PADS PCB 2005 SPAC1 on my workstation but i had errors opening the files..

can somebody help me on this?

NO PADS FILES OR UPDATE VERSION

BYE

You are trying to open
1. a file which is not created with pads or
2. a file which is created with a previous version of pads aka pads2004.

You've lost your license maybe...

Hi,

Try exporting that pcb design file as Ascii to your required Pads version, then import that ascii file and open it,it should open for sure...

I feel exporting it as Ascii file should work, let me know what the result you get out of this process....

Ramesh

Will work indeed but with loss of information if the ASCII was created by PADS2005 and imported in PADS2004, thats sure.

Pads 2005 sp1 is the higher version of PADS PCB 2005 Build 7.this is the problem..

So export ur file into older version & import it...
