from where i get it wether it simulate with BSIM4 modeling.

freewares for cmos layout

Magic is not the only one free layout editor. It is very good and reliable, and works rather on Unix, Linux. Currently, it is maintained by Tim Edwards.

You may find useful also LASI which works under MSWindows.

There is also a small but very impressive Microwind, made by Etienne Sicard. In Microwind you have integrated: the layout editor and an easy to use simulator with BSIM4 models.

analog layout freeware

Hi,

To start practicing layout i strongly recommend Microwind.
Is´s very simple, has simulation ability and a 3D process view very educational.
There are also a few standard process technology available.

evaluate layout editor tool

I came across a free layout editor called Layout (now there's a surprise). It is on the sourceforge repository at h**p://layout.sourceforge.net.
I found this much better than LASI or MAGIC which are quite dated and more difficult to set up technology files etc. Micrownd is too limited in its free version.
Good thing about layout is that it is being constantly improved.

1. Magic

Out of the above magic and Electric are very powerful layout editors.

hi evilguy - as far as i know...as long as you have the final GDSII file you can still fabricate your layout chip...yes microwind is free but with limited functionality compare to the commercial version of it.
