Can NIMP(N-implant) be overlapped with PIMP(P-implant)

Hi,

During layout(example CMOS inverter), can NIMP be overlapped with PIMP? As shown below.

Depends on your process - sometimes yes, sometimes no. The Design Rules' Manual or the DRC will tell you.
 
Depends upon your process. Would have helped if you had also shown you active and poly layers.
 
The rules sets I have seen often allow butting (=0) but not overlap,
and if not =0 then enforce an inconveniently large spacing. What
reason, other than a surface zener, would make you want to actually
overlap?
