Hello,
I calculate that the depth of the pq3535 bobbin is 10.4mm
Is this correct?, it seems very deep

..ie all layers of turns can be total of 10.4mm thick

Calc..

(35.5mm-14.7mm)/2 = 10.4mm

(pg 744 of databook) attached

Outer diameter is 31.4, not 35.5 as you considered, then the depth is:

(31.4-14.7)/2 = 8.35 mm

Look sharp. 14.7 mm is the bobbin hole diameter, you'll add about 2 mm for the outer diameter of the bobbin tube.

Thanks, so its only 6.35mm deep...to work it out exactly I wonder if we can use the "minimum winding area"?

eg (minimum winding area) / (minimum winding width) = 152/20.8 = 7.3mm = depth pf bobbin.
is this correct I wonder?
