hello,

Looking for a design for a converter from 12 or 24Vdc to 200V DC @0.5A.
Any one has a design?

Hi Giora
It is simple use SG3525 PWM feed the outputs to Pushpull Mosfets drive a ferrite transformer get the desired output. I can help while you design.

Hi Giora,
If you are using 12V Then IRFZ44 is a good choice. ETD34 ungapped core is a good choice fore ferrite transformer

You'll have many of the choices for going through . e.g : boost convert / flyback converter / forward converter ...... etc
If precision is not important for you a Royer oscillator can also be used

Thanks for the information.
Really I do not need 220V Ac 50Hz.
The output should be DC and can "give" 0.5A continuesly.
The output is connected to a laser driver board with this spec:
100A pulse
~20ns FHWM
100Khz repitition rate.

so you are driving laser diodes in pulse mode?

if you don't need small size, just use constant off time boost converter....or interleave two if you want better efficiency

Unfortunately I need a small size.

The size is limited by the ferite transformer. So use higher frequency in the smps to reduce the transformer size.

of course higher frequency will deal with more dissipation in SMPS . so sometimes it is not possible to increase the frequency .

Unfortunately I need a small size.
What if you mention your maximum allowed dimensions ?

Your allowed dimensions are nearby the boundary ! it wont' be so simple to do it with such a low dimension . if the precision is important the simplest and lowest size method is only using TOP integrated circuits . however there is another way too which called self oscillated flyback converter which doesn't use any IC and it is just transistor . did you ever heard of it ?
