dc votage amplification

hai guys,

I wants to amplify a variable voltage signal which varies around 2.5 to 5 V , 40mA and the amplified output must be 7.5 to 10v and output current must be 500mA.Need ur suggestions.
 
untitled.JPG Simple circuit will raise the 5V on output.... you can put a 5voltage follower for 500ma..
