I have similar problem with you before, however it turns out that, I need to understand "DIGITAL DESIGN" before try to understand the inner working of a microprocessor.
Perhaps this could help you:
1. learn what is a register.
2. find out why it is called a REGISTER
3. how register keep...
we can make those enclosure and nice button with CNC machine, the button is connected to a simple PCB mounted mini switch.
you could try browsing 3D prototype thing, they can make the enclosure from resin, no machining.
is this what you want:
1. press "button"
2. delay 45 minutes
3. relay activated.
if yes, you want the timer to delay for 45 minutes. I have to check the data sheet to design 45 minutes delay.
WHY it is called Operational Amplifier:
1. it is an amplifier
2. you do mathematical "OPERATION" with it; // i.e: addition, multiplication etc.
Oscillator:
you can use Vacuum tube to built oscillator // assuming there is no transistor in your planet
When NPN transistori is forward biased, electron in BASE region would travel against electric field in BASE-COLLECTOR junction.
I read also that it is due to diffusion process which I still don't understand because it is still swimming against electric field.

I am sure 68000 is a proper 16 bit microprocessor. How about 68HC16, would it also be considered 16 bit microprocessor, or is it still in 8-bit realm.

Could anyone kindly explain how the old XT keyboard, handle data buffering inside the keyboard, which is done by the microcontroller. Any specific procedure or protocol when it is handling the buffering task.
