HFSS: Calculate the absorption in each layer

In what manner does it not agree? Is it higher, lower? Is the difference small compared to the total power loss? In my experience the volume loss density (for volumes) + surface loss density (sheets) + radiated power agrees fairly well with the input power calculated from antenna properties (~1%).

need help for following project in hfss

The antenna is outside the meshed domain. Either raise your antenna into the 'air'-box or lower the box. Also your ground plane is unassigned and should be assigned to some form of conductivity bound.

    hfss error: non manifold edges

I got something similar in the past. Non-manifold means the new geometry can't physically exist. The unification screwed up some normalcy checks, perhaps surface area or volume calculation. Sometimes it is sufficient to use 'Modeler->Model Preparation->Heal' on the object. For more insight and...

    perfect magnetic conductor on HFSS

Could you perhaps share a little bit more information? What are you trying to achieve with the PMC bound? What kind of pattern are you looking for? Why do you figure the results are wrong?

    evaluation of S-parameter using HFSS

S-parameter evaluation is a result of a sweep calculation for a driven modal setup. This is very basic fair which is is extensively treated in the first couple of tutorials. I would advice you follow these.

[HFSS] Sweep a post processing variable

Hey Guys, Does anybody know if it is possible to sweep a post processing variable in HFSS, without having to do sweep calculation. I want to calculate the voltage between two points by integrating E-field along a non-model line. Now I want to move this line around and redo the Vline...

    Loop antenna in HFSS

Yes, as long as you select a predetermined surface to do so, like I explained for the globally defined planes in my post.

    Loop antenna in HFSS

HFSS only plots results on previously selected surfaces and only for selected parts of the simulation. If you want to plot the H-field say on the XY-plane, make sure you've selected the XY plane from the Planes tab in the model window. Then right click on your selection, choose "Plot Fields" >...

[HFSS V14.0] How to match lumped ports?

Hello everyone. As a small test of the effect of port shape and size on their value, I've built a simple current loop of random dimensions with a capacitive element to make it a resonant structure at 128MHz. Looking at the eigenmode analysis result it behaves like it should. However, when I want...

[HFSS V14.0] Nr. of triangles per defined surface.

I received confirmation from ANSYS that HFSS can't show the number of triangles on a surface. I was aware that I could limit the number of passes, the size of the adaptation per pass or the number of elements on one or all surfaces. Applying these limits only makes sense once you know where and...

[HFSS V14.0] Nr. of triangles per defined surface.

Hello everyone. HFSS-14 can show the number of tetrahedra per object progressing while performing adaptive analysis. However when I use lots of surface elements (ports, ideal conductors, etc) I am more interested in the number of triangles defined on a surface element. Especially when I suspect...

Hfss semicircle drawing for a dual layer patch antenna for major project

Draw a cylinder with zero height and radius r directed towards the positive z-axis. Draw a box with dimensions between 1.01*(-r,0,-1) and 1.01*(r,r,1). Subtract the box from the cylinder and you will get a half circle.

    HFSS integration line problem

I see in your message log that you performed a geometry modification on your boundary. If this modification touches the integration line it is removed and needs to be reassigned after the modification. I'm not sure if this will solve your problem but at least it will solve the message in the log.

"Contact maps are ambiguous"-error for angled Master-Slave boundaries in HFSS 14?

Re: "Contact maps are ambiguous"-error for angled Master-Slave boundaries in HFSS 14? I have been able to find a work around, but I still don't know what the actual problem is. As it said in the error multiple objects touch both the master and slave boundaries. I changed the position of the...

HFSS - Error simulating of a patch antenna

Do you a little bit more information available? Perhaps a screen shot of the entire message log. This message indicates that the simulation ended succesfully. If you are note able to view your results something else must have gone wrong.
