    Microphone to headphone question

There are lot's of simple transistor amplifiers on this site: http://www.talkingelectronics.com/te_interactive_index.html.

    Electronic Rice Cooker

I agree with BigDog. That's how I've seen them work. The control lags the process just enough to result in the bottom being slightly scorched.

Component request, Banana jack adapter 2mm in to 4mm out

Do you know that it exists? Check with E-Z Hook (in my previous post). I would contact both companies directly to inquire.

Can i slow down a desk fan?

Most inexpensive fans use shaded pole motors. There are speed controllers available. Just search online. Another possibility would be to use a geared shaded pole motor such as a barbecue spit rotor or similar slow turning device to rotate your mirrored panels. Disco speed = 140 beats per minute?

[SOLVED] 7 Segment Led Equation oddity.

The calculation will work but the resistor value will be zero. The thing you probably aren't understanding is that an LED is not a static resistance. The forward voltage drop of the LED as specified in any data you have will vary even among LEDs from the same production lot. It will also vary...

[SOLVED] 7 Segment Led Equation oddity.

If you're trying to calculate a resistor value for a 10mA current, you're multiplying where you should be dividing. Try R=(Vs-Vf)/I where Vs is the supply voltage, Vf is the nominal forward voltage of the LED and I is the design current. Even if your supply voltage is barely enough to drive the...

LED sequence circuit with 4017 and 555

Re: LED Sequence Circuit You need to define the elements of the display then the timing in terms of the smallest time step including off or pause times. This appears to have 5 separate elements: red LEDs, purple LEDs, white LEDs1, white LEDs2 and white LEDs3 and approximately 20 time steps...

Why do the LED's not flash?

Double check your wiring and polarity. Add a 10 nF capacitor from pin 5 to ground.

    Customized/Built DB9 connector

Most computer parts suppliers have these (9-pin serial to 10-pin motherboard header), usually on a slot plate. This brand is widely available. Hard-to-Find Made Easy! Computer Parts, Cables, A/V and Server management | StarTech.com

Where to by a dynamic mic

They are hard to find. The manufacturers show up but seem to be aligned to sell to OEMs only. You can get a complete dynamic microphone for less than $10. The Nady SP-1 and similar products from Sony and Audio-Technica are widely available. Most of the wired microphones made for old cassette...

Need advice buying my first soldering iron

I've been happy with my Hakko 936 but like Hewitson said, it was discontinued and replaced with the FX-888 years ago and there are many low quality counterfeit and clone 936's out there. In Europe you can get an FX-888 in black. [HAKKO] : Soldering iron : HAKKO FX-888

[SOLVED] 26-segment LED display - 14 pins - no datasheet available - how test?

Nice work. That's a good find for a µC project with no multiplex dimming.
