Thanks for your answer. It helps a lot.
Could somebody, who came across these transistors, write how they used to cope with higher wattages (with a proper heatsink of course)?

Hello everyone,
I've created this topic just to learn about your opinions and experiences with those transistors. Some say they were lousy, having a border frequency of about 800kHz (which, I believe, doesn't matter in case of AF amplifiers, PSU, etc.).
I do invite you to share...
Lead acid battery = 10V

I think it explains everything.

Hi,
You probably won't be able to charge any battery effectively using these caps. That's because the capacitance of any battery is much larger than any even electrolytic capacitor.

Hi,
Address bus is the connection between CPU and the memory that is used for determining the area of memory in which CPU wants to write or from which it wants to read. Number of bits of adress bus influences the size of memory to which the CPU has an access.
Data bus is meanwhile responsible...
Hi, you may simply add external PNP transistor which will be driven from that NPN inside optoisolator. In this way you will avoid placing a load in emitter circiut.

Hi,
Please give some more info about the circuit, schematic in particular. I guess you're trying to use triac instead of relay?
For triacs being controlled properly you will probably need something with Zero Cross Detection, MOC3041 optotriacs for egzample.
Today I made the first attempt to charge NiCd with MAX712. I use old GPs 1000mAh and fast charge current is 500mA. The charger (which is simplest linear application circiut) switches to trickle charge after about 20 minutes each time :( So my guess was correct, the device terminates charge too...
Thanks, I'll try :D
As far as I know Maxim does not send samples to Poland any more. I bought mine from a guy who'd got them from Maxim some time earlier :| But, in fact that was almost the only chance for me to get them :( And, wasn't it for such people, Maxim would surely continue sampling to...
max713 pcb
Hi, thanks for your answers :D
I've already got both 712/713, but the second one in a SMD package and you know what it means for beginner :D... That's why I wonder if I can use one MAX712 based charger for both NiCd and NiMH cells.
I've done so, and my answer is "yes", but I'm not...
max712
Hello everybody :D
I have a question as in the topic. Has anybody tried charging NiCd cells with MAX712, which is basically designed for NiMH? I've read a lot (including application note) but found no answer. MAX713 terminates fast charge by detecting negative voltage slope (cell voltage...
