I am looking to make a device that has a number of relays that I can control by micro controller. I was just looking for advice on what sort of relays I can get for cheap that can be controlled by a pic or atmel uController. They would only need to switch usb lines so no high powered relays...
Hello,
I have tried to find something on the internet about this and it seems like it is possible. But when I search all I get are people with strange an very specific questions.
All I want to do is write a program to control/read a few agilent power supplies over GPIB. If anyone know if and...
Re: USB to COM Project
Alright, I think that sounds reasonable but practically speaking I don't know where to start. My application is being programmed in Visual C# if that helps. I do hope to make the whole thing driver and all into a single executable package to simplify things for the end user.
Hello,
I am writing a program, and making a small device that reads some info, then send it by VCP to my program. I am using an FT232 and what I would like to know is how if possible I could modify the drivers to make the VCP for that particular chip to always be assigned to the same name.The...
Re: Decimal to ASCII
Thanks but I am using CCS for PIC and do not have that function available to me.
Would you be able to tell me how it does that or of a function in ccs with that function?
Thanks
Jon
Hello,
I would like some help converting a decimal number into a string of ASCII characters in C language. For Example d120 would become '1' '2' '0'.
I am not a very good programmer and I cannot figure out how to go about separating each character.
Thank you for your help.
Jon
Re: Power Relays
I know that SSR's have zero crossing but if the current is out of phase from the voltage could it cause complications, not to mention there is a 15 v window on most and that is enough to cause a decent spike. Then again I have no practical experience with relays and therefore...
Re: Power Relays
Thank you, I had looked at SSR for a bit and they have much nicer datasheets I will admit, but I do not know if a Solid state circuit would beable to handle an inductive load switching on and off rapidly. Will this not cause a large voltage spike and blow the part?
And as for...
I was trying to find a PCB Power Relay to capable of shutting off a a 240VAC load @ upto 30A preferably TTL controllable but I do not understand all of the datasheet values when I go looking. Could anyone recommend a part or tell me what values mean what on a basic relay data sheet.
Here was...
Measureing AC current
I am trying to measure the current use from a household outlet and and was looking at using either a hall effect sensor, or a toroid. I am however having difficulty understanding the datasheets. I cannot seem to find either formulae or any reference to expected output from...
ac signal conditioning
I was wondering if anyone could point me to some good referances on how to attentuate an AC signal (120/240v 60hz) down to managable levels for reading with a ADC. The ADC will likely be 0-5v input. I was looking at using opamps to attenuate but would appreciate some...
Hello,
I need help with desiging a power measurement device for home appliances. I want to plug appliances through the device into the wall and have it measure V and A to be able to calculate Kw/H.
My problems are that I am unsure of how to measure AC voltage and current effeciantly so as...
