Hello,

I need help with desiging a power measurement device for home appliances. I want to plug appliances through the device into the wall and have it measure V and A to be able to calculate Kw/H.

My problems are that I am unsure of how to measure AC voltage and current effeciantly so as not to impact the circuit to much. Also I would like help with drawing a small amount of power off the line to power the device.

Devices like this exist I am just trying to replicate this to teach myself certain things as a side project. For an example of what I am doing here is a link to a commercial version.https://www.the-gadgeteer.com/review/kill_a_watt_electric_usage_monitor_review
