But i opened it and didn't find diodes making up a bridge rectifier.. Only 2 diodes 1 1n4007 and other one is a zener.
3 resistors and a small ferrite transformer and one 8 pin NO NAME ic...
So where is the bridge rectifier?

I recently bought a Chinese mobile phone battery charger, the one in which you have to remove the battery from mobile phone and connect it to the leads of the chinese charger to charge it..
When the battery +ve and -ve terminals are properly touched to the leads of the charger...

what is this compressor circuit you are talking about?
and about charging, i know that every battery has a recommended charge rate which is denoted by C.. so if you vary the charge rate, it might charge faster.. but i am not sure if its recommended or not.. using a wrong charge rate might...
pls give any proper verified links for functioning ups....there are a thousand ckts on ups on the net... but i have seen people having problems with the most simple ones...so i recommended to use a book also... i have 2 project books and just bought a ups repairing book and circuits designed in...
wow... and i thought it wasnt possible to find out what a component can be if its missing... i only know how to check if components are faulty or ok...this has thought me a different view....

Hello there hgf... you from hyderabad... you must have seen simple low cost CFL inverters( 45 watts runs for 2-3 hours) shop keepers have been using from past some times...
you should go in the local electronics market and search for its circuit... if you find it, you should get it max in 500...
