Confusion: Dishal Tuning Method for Coupled Filters

Thank you biff44. I will try the procedure now. Lets see if I am successful or not.

Confusion: Dishal Tuning Method for Coupled Filters

Thank you very much, biff44, for the reply. Reading your post, I can form out some steps as follows. Kindly correct me if I am wrong somewhere. 1) Connect filter's input to VNA port-1 and output to VNA port-2 2) Short out every resonator using tuning screws and set reference plane of phase of...

Confusion: Dishal Tuning Method for Coupled Filters

@Borber I was thinking of simulation to know what to expect when doing it practically. Anyways, can you share the practicalities of tuning this filter on a VNA? I mean what will I be doing and what will I be looking for.

Confusion: Dishal Tuning Method for Coupled Filters

Hello everyone! I have a confusion in Dishal Tuning Method for Coupled Filters (Reference: Alignment and Adjustment of Synchronously Tuned Multiple-Resonant-Circuit Filters by Dishal). My understanding of the method is as follows (Practical Aspect): 1-Connect the Filter's input to a frequency...

Suspended Substrate Stripline (SSS) High Pass Filter @ 6G

Suspended Substrate Stripline (SSS) High Pass Filter (HPF) @ 6G I am working on a diplexer these days for which I am designing a HPF. I have modified the first series and first shunt element of each doubly terminated filter so that they would not load other in diplexer. Currently, I am facing a...

    Diplexer Design and Optimization Problem

@Biff44 Thanks a ton for replying. BIff, I understand that reactive parts should cancel each other, leaving us with the beauty: 50 ohms. But how do I do it practically and with the given design? A pragmatic example would do me great favor. Ali

    Diplexer Design and Optimization Problem

Hello! I was given a task to optimize a contiguous LPF-HPF suspended-substrate diplexer (doubly-terminated filters). The modelling was done in HFSS. I re-shaped/designed the model to make it almost fully relative, that is, it accepts the variations of length and width in one of the filter...

8-Pole Round Rod Cavity Interdigital Filter HFSS Simulation

Hello everyone! I have to design an 8-pole Round Rod Cavity Interdigital filter. Theoretically, it meets my required specs which are as follows: -Fc= 1090 MHz -Bandwidth= 270 MHz -FBW= 24.77 % -Insertion Loss= Less than 1 dB from 955-1225 MHz (270 MHz) -Rejection > 45 dB @ 807.5 MHz and 1372.5...

Band Pass Filter with very low IL, sharp rejection and small size.

Thank you Bigboss for giving me the ADS project. However, it is unfortunate that I cannot use that filter because of its insertion loss. Insertion Loss being less than 1 dB is a very strict requirement even 0.1 dB greater than it would cause me to reconsider my options.

Band Pass Filter with very low IL, sharp rejection and small size.

BigBoss, do you have ADS file of this? or in any other form which can be imported to gerber? I ahve sonnet free version which does not analyze this file due to limitations in free version. - - - Updated - - - Also, are conductor losses included in the above scenario? - - - Updated - - -...

Band Pass Filter with very low IL, sharp rejection and small size.

@BigBoss Thank you for your reply, sir. I have never used Sonnet. ADS fan. :) But will see to it. Would you please tell me how come the size of this Tapped Hair-Pin filter reduced so much at this frequency? An insight would be great.

Band Pass Filter with very low IL, sharp rejection and small size.

Requirement: Band Pass Filters (BPFs) with very low Insertion Loss (IL) (Less than 0.9 dB practically), sharp rejection (Greater than 45 dB in stopband), wide stopabnd and small size (Not greater than 3 by 3 in.) Hello, I hope everyone is doing well. I am kind of stuck in a task given to me. I...

    [MOVED] UWB Transciever Design

Hello all, Its Ali here. I am a Electrical (Telecom) Engineering student and my Final Year Project (FYP) is Portable GPR in which I am designing UWB transceiver. Currently I am working on the transmitter part. Here are a few specs of the design: -Simulation Software: NI Multisim 12.0.1 -Its an...

UWB SFCW or FMCW Transceiver design?

Here are my specific requirements: " Hello, I am a final year student of BEE Telecom. I chose my Final Year Project to design a Transmitter and Receiver for GPR. GPR has already been developed in my institute. It uses VNA (Vector Network Analyzer) as its source. Some features of that project...

UWB SFCW or FMCW Transceiver design?

Does anybody know how to design a UWB Stepped-Frequency Continuoud Wave (SFCW) or Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) Transceiver? If you have schematics or you can explain a relevant block diagram in detail, please reply. Regards, Ali
