what is ment by resolution?
what is the resolution of pic microcontroller?

Re: resolution

Resolution is a describing adjective for some electronic instruments which are involved with data acquisition, sending, or receiving...
Then resolution shows the quality of the data.
For example, an HDTV has a very higher resolution than a conventional TV; because the pixels of the image is much more than the second.

In micro-controllers it may show the data point sampling power of the chip.

resolution

resolution is a term applied to the finest measuring ability of a device.

Resolution of voltmeter is its ability to measure the smallest reading. If u hv to measure a voltage of 5.5673 V.Suppose the voltmeter reads 5.567V
and another voltmeter reads 5.57,then resolution of first one is 0.001V and the second one's resolution is 0.01 V.
That means Resolution of 0.001 can distinguish between values upto 0.001V.Thus the value of 5.5673 is shown as 5.567...

Resolution of controller may b in terms of its clk cycle or low level or high level values.....

Re: resolution

Hi,
Resolution is a property of a digital system and indicates its precision, defined as a percentage of the ratio of the smallest value to the full scale value it can handle. For example, the resolution of a system handling only variables as bytes (8bit long) will be 1 in 256 or, 0.25% approx. In other words, Resolution points to the quantising error introduced in a digital system.

A closely associated term is Accuracy, which in many cases will be worse than resolution due to additional factors contributing to the errors in a digital system. The best accuracy one can get from a digital system is the Resolution.

unintrupted power supply(UPS)

what is line interactive UPS?

what is line interactive UPS?
why it is called as LINE INTERACTIVE? what it means?

what is ment by third harmonic distortion (THD)

resolution

is smallest value a digital system can understand.........depends on number of bits it employs...more bits more resolution and vice versa
