Thick patch

Can anyone tell me how conductor thickness affect the charcterstics of antennai.e resonant freq, surface current, radiation pattern. Normally we use patches of thickness 0.002mm, but what happent if the thickness is increased to 1mm. Is the behaviour governed by any equations???

Re: Thick patch

Hi,
If you tell about patch antenna, I think, that thickness have affect at impedance substrate - and this have affect at return loss.

Thick patch

Any conductor thickness greater than 5 skin depths is a bottle neck for antenna design. 3d simulator is best tool to judge the behavior than by equations.
