Hi
can ne one tell me how can a high pass filter remove a dc offset of a signal,
the only way i knew was subtracting the mean value of the signal from the signal itself and u will get rid of the dc offset,
so is there exists a HP filter which offers less delay and can also remove the dc offset

br

DC is 0Hz

thus any HPF will remove DC offset. When designing such a circuit, you have to work out your lowest frequency of interest and make the cutt-off somewhere below that.

A series capacitor is frequently used to remove DC.

Hi, thanks for a prompt reply

Is there any technique for designing such HP filter which offer less delay,
i have delay conscious data and i want less delay through the filters

how do you want to perform your filter?
simulink or making physically?
this link give basic information about HPF:

HI

I am making a communication system in matlab actually,
later on i will implement the system in a dsp, so in either case i want to make this filter by using software approach, and also my system is delay critical, so i want to spend as little time as possible in filtering out the DC component,

so do You know any filtering technique for this HPF which should not cause significant delay in the system
