CCD Camera-->SAA7111A--> CPLD -->Cy7C68013

CCD Camera-->SAA7111A--> CPLD -->Cy7C68013 USB HUB-> PC

CCD Camera-->SAA7111A--> CPLD -->Cy7C68013

CCD Camera-->SAA7111A--> CPLD -->Cy7C68013

using 4 channels to acquire Video signal ,
and every CPLD with 2 SRAMs,
when signal out of cy7c68013 , they go to USB Hub at the same time,
and then 4 channels from USB HUB to Pc ,
May I do so?
what's more , If the PC have 8 usb port ,
may I do not use USB HUB?? :(

thanks a lot ! :arrow:

Hello. I was searching for something like that and I found this
thread.

vvsvv did you do it? Is it working?

Also, are there any CCD cameras that can give you the output
not on video signal but digitalized? More specific, USB?

Thanks.

vvsvv,
The key here is the bandwidth. What is the specificaiton for your CCDs? What is the maximum resolution you want to capture, and what is the framerate.

If you put all of them together, you find out that USB is not as great as you first thought it is.

In reality you can only use 50% of the maximum bandwidth of the UBS,

The project is doable, but it all depends on how fast you want to capture the data, if you have any type of compression before you send it via US etc.

Good luck,
/Farhad
