LCD without an in-built controller

I am looking for an LCD without an in-built LCD controller. So that I could use ATMEGA169 as the LCD controller to control it. I have searched a lot and I am not finding one.

lcd without controller is available for numerals only.

if it is alphanumeric then with controller is only available.
this is fro what i have seen so far.

what do you mean by "numerals only" that is what an alphanumeric or character lcd is right??..Then could you suggest me a graphical LCD for the same..

an 3 1/2 digit lcd - example of 'numerals only' type.

the hd4480 lcd controller - for 'alphanumeric' type.
